It’s a double celebration for the team at the Tutankhamun Exhibition this week. We were thrilled to hear that The Exhibition has been voted Runner Up in the Favourite Museum or Historic Attraction Reader Star Awards for 2017 organised by Primary Times. The announcement of the Award coincides with the 95th anniversary of the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in by Howard Carter on November 26th, 1922.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of The Tutankhamun Exhibition in Dorchester, two specially commissioned replicas of the shabti figures of Tutankhamun are being put on show for the first time.

When it opened in 1987 it was the first of its kind and provided a spectacular recreation of Tutankhamun’s tomb and treasures. Over it’s last 30 years it has been internationally acclaimed and has given birth and inspiration to many other exhibitions all over the world.
